Chickens easily knock it over. I can't imagine this size working for a horse! I originally bought one as an extra water bowl for the chickens. Due to the light weight of this item, it is now used as an extra water bowl for dogs. The chickens easily knocked him over, but the dog is a little tastier. The dog probably won't try to bathe in it like chickens do. Instead, I would recommend buying large, wide rubber pans. Rubber pans can be better used in more areas. The plastic pot should last quite a while. Fortiflex does not fade. 4 stars for durability but minus 1 star for light weight.
