Review on πŸ”Š Anker Soundcore Icon Mini: Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker, Explosive Sound, High IP67 Water Resistance (Black) by Jeff Kern

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprisingly good sound in stereo

I put off buying a Bluetooth speaker for years because I never understood why they can't be stereo paired. This seems like a missed opportunity (why replace the boombox with actually mono audio?). I carried wired computer speakers to picnics, outdoor events, etc. Eventually, someone suggested what I was looking for. pretty impressive. I was initially disappointed with what I heard until I switched to a higher quality audio file; For such a small speaker, I'm honestly surprised I could hear the difference so easily. Bass isn't very impressive, but that's to be expected given the size, and it's certainly sufficient for most tunes in situations where portability is important. The highs are well differentiated and I feel like I can easily distinguish different instruments in a song, which I really appreciate. They certainly won't replace halfway decent bookshelf speakers, but they compare well to my computer speakers. A few of these can easily fill a small space. I look forward to using them when I need something portable or just want to watch a movie in bed every now and then. It took me a good 30 minutes to figure out how to connect the speakers because I can't get the instructions from the pictures instead of the written instructions. You must pair them before connecting them to your phone or computer. You turn them on and press and hold the Bluetooth icon button on each speaker for 3 seconds, after which it will beep and you can pair them with your device. Use a wired connection instead of Bluetooth.
