Let me first say that the picture quality of this camera is very good for a doorbell camera. Also, the firmware does a good job of correcting most wide-angle distortions. I like the LED on the bottom and it flashes when motion is detected to keep people looking at the camera. Night color mode works pretty well when the porch light is on (which stays on all night), and night IR mode works well too. There is only one HDR setting, but it works well. Now for the bad parts. The Android app is an absolute disaster. It's supposed to be a security camera, so it should alert you when it detects movement, or a person if you've set it up that way. The problem is that notifications can often last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. What's so good about that? I'm using a new mesh dual band router and a new 5G phone. Signal strength is at peak for both the camera's WiFi and the 5G phone, so it's not a signal issue. I've also tried replacing the 24VAC 40VA transformer I used in my old doorbell closet with a 2lb industrial 24VAC 50VA transformer so there isn't a power issue . The app loads slowly, and when I click the camera icon, I get a "Loading live view" message for over half a minute before the "Uh-oh, something went wrong" message pops up. It may take a few tries before I get the picture on my phone. The same thing happens when I try to watch the recorded video. The only way I can get a picture on my phone in a reasonable amount of time is if I sit at home and turn on the wifi on my phone, then I can usually get to the camera. I even tried disabling every battery saver feature I could find on my phone but the notifications still take too long. There have been times when I don't really think about the camera after leaving the house and get a notification after a few minutes while I'm driving. Turns out the message was that I was leaving the house. "Human" detection also works well with cat detection when trying to follow a kitten. Incredibly, there is no web interface to customize the camera e.g. B. getting rid of the huge LOREX logo that nobody wants or changing the position. Date/time where this works for you. There are no adjustments for brightness, contrast, saturation, white balance, HDR levels, etc. That's a lot of money for a camera that can't be customized to suit your needs. Another issue is that the camera is not ONVIF compliant. I suspect Lorex wants you to buy their new Fusion system because this camera doesn't even work with their slightly older non-Fusion NVRs. How about celebrating loyal Lorex customers? Despite its flaws, it could have been such a good camera if the app actually worked, but after weeks of troubleshooting, scouring the internet and checking every possible camera setting, my phone and the app, I'm afraid these cameras don't will eleven work on an Android device.
