I have used this on a registered bag. When I received the bag the hard plastic case of the lock was quite worn. The woven metal loop was quite strong, but it held. I think the lock, which can dangle an inch free from the zipper, caught on a conveyor belt or some other mechanical force. The lock held so I find it strong enough, but I wouldn't recommend this type of lock for a plaid back. Any other place where you need security e.g. B. in a hotel room, or in a situation where you need an extra room with a loop to install a lock, this will work fine. The convenience of having both a key and a dial is a good option. My experience with the airline was perhaps just an extreme case. I used the lock on return where it worked fine again.
