I originally bought this appliance to boil hard boiled eggs, this appliance does a great job. Family members can use the egg cooker to prepare fluffy mini omelettes. A few times the plastic from the omelette mold will start to melt and stick to the heating surface. Yes, the water was carefully measured before boiling. I'm tempted to throw this piece away and just use the unit for steaming whole eggs. My caveat would be to turn the boiled eggs off and take them out as soon as the end of the cooking tone sounds or you risk melting the plastic. I had to scrape the melted plastic off the heating surface before the next use. That doesn't happen when I make hard boiled eggs. Otherwise I love this product and will keep it. I enjoy cooking hard boiled eggs easily and with less energy than on the stovetop. I used it daily. I would give 5 stars if melting could be avoided because my family loves fluffy omelettes.
