Review on Remington TF70CDN Battery Operated Travel Electric by Sheila Harris

Cleaner shaven than Panasonic or Norelco

OK, I'm 50 years old and have some facial hair which is embarrassing. I've been carrying these battery powered travel shavers in my purse for a few years now to discreetly touch things up. First I had a Panasonic which was noisy but worked well and could shave fairly close but then wore out. a year or so and i got norelco because a friend recommended it. The Norelco was quieter, but I don't think it's shaved anywhere near as the Panasonic, and the Norelco's battery compartments were too narrow to fit my rechargeable NiMH batteries, which was annoying. I'm tired of Norelco's crappy shaves so I decided to try this $13 Remington and if I don't like it I'll go and buy another Panasonic. After a few weeks with it I like it best so far. from three. I love that it has a built in lid that rotates. I don't like the way you turn it on and I wish it had a separate power button like Panasonic or Norelco. But that's no big deal, because what really matters is that it shaves even better than the Panasonic, in my opinion. I'm pretty sure it's because it has two shaving foils compared to Panasonic which only had one. It's louder than Norelco but not louder than Panasonic. I'm happy with my purchase, hopefully it will last me a year or so which I think is the best you can get from one of these cheap little battery powered shavers. I really wish they would sell replacement foils and shaving heads, it seems wasteful to throw away an old item in the absence of a new blade and shaving foil.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of style
