Review on 🎧 HIFIMAN HE400SE Stealth Magnets Version Over-Ear Open-Back Full-Size Planar Magnetic Wired Headphones: Great-Sounding, Comfortable, High-Sensitivity Audio Gear for Audiophiles and Studios by Justin Miller

These are the first planar magnetic headphones I tried. Coming from the Sennheiser HD 558, the sound quality was excellent. Unfortunately the same day I received them, the correct driver began producing a distorted sound when playing bass. The longer I played sound through them, the worse it got. However, the left side played normally without any distortion. I switched both cables and sources to narrow down the source of the problem and it was the same problem everywhere. I'd read some horror stories about Hifiman's build quality, reliability etc but figured I'd give it a try anyway as they said the customer service had improved. Bring a spare kit and I'll update my review if the kit is ok. (Update) My replacement pair arrived and I've been listening to them for a few days now and they sound fantastic. The best pair of headphones I've ever had. Improve rating to 5 stars.
