I purchased to help me build a makeshift dressing room in my house. This turned out to be quite helpful. The magnetic holder is particularly practical. I quickly built a metal jig out of scrap metal and a piece of wood (see picture) to hold it in place and be able to mount it anywhere on the opposite wall. This way I can place the lasers anywhere. This is the first one I've ever bought so take my opinion with a grain of salt but I wanted the cheapest self leveling laser I could find and this was it. He seems a little fragile as he says he has to lock it whenever he moves. I suspect the weighted laser inside could become unbalanced if dropped or shaken too hard. But overall it's no nonsense, it's easy to use and good enough for most purposes. Usage is not a problem. Unlock it and it will turn on. Put it in the lock when you're done with it. When the light is green, the laser has stopped shaking and found its center. If it's red, it's wobbling, so wait a bit for it to balance. Easy. I think I will continue to make a lot more of it in the future, even if it takes time through this DIY project I think it will pay off. He also had batteries. And a nylon storage bag that can withstand even with the metal magnetic element attached and protruding. Not perfect, but good for little money! Only thing I wish the lasers were thinner but it doesn't matter. 4/5.Side note; The location of the battery is confusing. See the picture in the attached instructions. There's a sort of Asian dichotomy to the little plus and minus signs in the bay (not a racial slur, I'm Asian American, maybe I'm just talking about cultural differences?) Anyway, it didn't work out when I first put the batteries in the Go thought me they would have to go inside, and I had to refer to the manual's paper illustration to see how to put the batteries in. I swear I used them correctly the first time but they didn't turn on. never mind After removing and inserting according to the instructions, the device began to work.
