Chemical Smell for my opinion
The first thing I noticed after opening the package was the smell. When I removed the plastic covering on the mat the smell was strong (at least for me). After cutting out a few stickers, I started to get a headache. Also it sticks but I was cutting sticker paper and it cut the mat which has never happened. I only use one kind of paper and always the same pressure and this has never happened on the name brand mat. Not sure what happened. I was trying to save a few dollars. Now I have to drive to UPS to return it. Well ,there goes the few dollars
