Review on 2 oz Speedball Metal Leaf Adhesive for Mona Lisa Painting by Jasin Gilstrap

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No matter how thin it is, remember to use sealant on the finished product.

I have to smear it with a toothpick on fine lines in things like characters I cut into my artwork, so the glue has to be thin. (Yes, I'm very, very patient) It stays tacky for hours, which is what I want as it takes a couple of hours to apply parts. I am very happy with it. I've used it with a fake leaf and a real one. If I plan to use gold leaf, I apply glue, apply fake leaf, then reapply the glue the next day and put real gold on top. Where the glue goes beyond the lines I can rub the sheet with a sharp wooden stick as the glue never dries. Sealant must be applied over the finished work, not only to protect the sheet metal, it is needed to 'seal' the glue otherwise the work pieces will remain sticky forever.
