For the past few months, this lens has been my go-to for photography. Typically restless young people. Aperture wide open: that's how I photograph almost exclusively! Someone has griped about the pace, but it doesn't seem slow to me. My only point of reference is Kenon 1.2, and uh, it's lot faster and the image looks much better. There was zero hilarity, which was also quite pleasant. In comparison to other 85s, this one has a softer blur, which I find to be a major plus. I enjoy the clarity and the vivid hues. My go-to 135mm L-series from Kenon is adapter-ready, but I've yet to get one because the 85mm from Sony is so much fun to shoot with. This is the finest 85 I've ever seen. There are no drawbacks associated with weight because, alas, all quality glasses are heavy; in this case, you must choose carefully. I am completely content with this acquisition.
