- Hello everyone, I specialize in wedding and fashion-wedding photography and work as a professional photographer. After shooting with Sony mirrorless cameras for the past 2.5 years, I decided to treat myself to a Sony FE 85 1.4 GM lens so that I could take portraits from the front and the waist. Already from the moment that I unpacked the package, I realized what the reviewers commended it for: the construction quality, the material from which it is constructed, and everything else is at the greatest level possible. It was only natural for me to find something to photograph straight away, and it did exceptionally well in the tests, both outside with an open aperture of 1.4 and indoors with a closed aperture. The sharpness is outstanding, and the picture and bokeh are superior to those of any other lens I have tried; in fact, even the renowned Canon 85mm 1.2L is surpassed by it. The functionality of the button labeled "focus memory" met all of my expectations. The autofocus operates at a lightning-fast pace, particularly when compared to the zezes via the A-mount adaptor.
- This lens has one problem for me, and that is that due to the diameter of its body, it partially conceals the autofocus sensor. This is obviously an annoying element, but it is not a deal breaker.
