It is great! Climbing

These are my wife's pair. I posted the following review on my pair I tried yesterday. I have 78 acres of land, mow 2-1/2 miles of trails in the summer and groom them in the winter to walk my dogs. Last week we got 18 to 24 inches of snow on the flats and more in the snowdrifts. The problem with packed trails is that you compress the snow and in the spring when it gets warmer the trails become ice covered and dangerously slippery. I fell into the past and was looking for a solution. I saw this footage and decided to give it a try. Grips 101: Not as portable to begin with as they were received. Yes, they are assembled, but the triangular connectors that connect the chain to the rubber must be positioned with the pointed end facing the chain. They don't, so you do (you just move them around until they're pointing in the right direction). Look at her. Take the boot and hold it upside down on your knees. Place the front of the grip around the toe, pull the elastic over the sides and pull it over the heel. It should fit snugly around the entire perimeter. Make sure that none of the rubber bands are hanging under the sole of the shoe. Everything should be tight without dangling chains. This may take a little practice and may not be easy when you're outside with your boots on. Because of this, I decided to attach them to a pair of boots and leave them permanent. I will only wear these boots in cold weather. How They Work: Well, these are the best things after sliced bread. Maybe better! I've already worn them three times while walking the dog on our many miles. I actually checked ice patches to see if it works as advertised. In short, they do it and I think it's fantastic. Now I can go to the chicken coop, walk the dogs and do whatever I want without worrying about falling. Tip: Elevate your legs when walking. They won't scratch your soles. I don't understand the negative reviews regarding glitches. If they're installed properly and tightly, I don't see how you're going to break them. I have to assume they were either the wrong size, installed loosely, or twisted somehow when installed. Highly recommended by both of us!

Pros
  • Sports and outdoor activities
Cons
  • Good but not great
