so how many people i probably wanted more than one sensor so i bought 5 extra sensors too. I read the printed schematic pairing instructions but none of the 5 paired (the one with the gateway device paired immediately). I found a webpage with three pictures that explained the process differently, but that didn't work either. I was angry. Finally, he took a step back, assessed the problem, and decided to try a way that essentially combined online instructions and printed instructions. Bingo! But I don't understand WHY it had to hurt so much. I held down the top button on the gateway for 3 seconds until it flashed blue. This activates the pairing function and the device will appear in the WiFi lists on your smartphone. Grab this one when it arrives on your phone (install the Govee Home app first, of course). After WiFi pairing between gateway and phone, press and hold (3 seconds) the bottom button on the gateway. The indicator on the gateway flashes red/blue. Pick up the sensor you want to pair, press and hold the button on the sensor for a few seconds, then release. The gateway will flash blue while attempting to connect to the sensor. After a few seconds, it turns solid blue. It's a couple! Check your app, it will now appear. If not, try updating the app. I had a sensor that didn't connect on the 1st try, on the 2nd try. Go back and repeat this entire process for the other sensors, one at a time. Similar to PITA, but the good news is that if you have a second phone and originally registered the app, all your devices will show up on the second phone right away, assuming you're signed in. The sensors work very well and the alarm clocks are quite loud in my house and I tested one with 1 drop of water and it worked and the smartphone alarm function worked fine.
