This scratching post was easy to assemble. My 12 year old daughter made it herself with my husband. The color goes with everything. We love the different levels and our very active cat loves them even more. The messages act like scratches, which she often uses. She sits and sleeps at all levels and often sleeps in bed. It was a way to keep her off the table. We put it in front of our living room window and she seemed to like it a lot. It has a place where you can hang the included toy. They were easy to put on and she was very busy. The levels are staggered and she moves easily from one to the next, but it took a few days to complete. At first I was worried that she wouldn't use it because she only seemed to go second from the top and onto the bed. It did not last long. However, I sprinkled it with some catnip to tempt her. The price is fantastic. It's way better than I thought it would be for the price. The tree moves a lot when she jumps off it, but it never fell over. You can tie it to the wall if you like, but since we move it around depending on the season and location, we didn't put it on the wall. I definitely recommend it.
