I wanted to use them in the bathroom as disposable towels for my elderly father-in-law. I wanted something more than paper towels and this was it. However, they are not as absorbent as we would like. As described, they are absorbent on one side and coated on the other side. They are similar to the bibs used by the dentist and this is probably their purpose. They are ideal for that. For what I need they are fine.
