Don't buy a size up.
I made the mistake of listening to the reviews at bought a size larger than I measured. The size chart is probably spot on if you like a looser fitting jacket. I'm 6 feet at 190 pounds and the XL was way too big. I returned the jacket and didn't order the L as the style was not to my liking.
