This has worked very well with my chickens. I left the factory settings and the door closes on time just minutes after everyone has gone to bed. I have two buildings, one inside the other. I hung it on the door to the yard. They usually enter a large building 30 minutes or an hour before they go to bed, so they stayed inside for a while before the door actually closed. I manually close the inner door to their smaller coop every night and check on them, but they are pretty well protected with the outer door closed. I recommend installing it indoors, not outdoors. I'm worried that a predator might lift the door when the elevator is out. I ended up cutting a hole for it in one of the metal wire windows so it would sit in the wall so the device could see the light. I've only had it for a week, but I was surprised at how well it works. I expected to have to play around with ISO syncing.
