(Note: I wrote this review when it was $49.99 for two 1 gallon containers) This product is often available in 2 gallon (each) for 30% off. $50 for two 1 gallon containers is not competitive. In addition, other manufacturers have entered the market in recent years and offer powdered products for about 1/6 the price. I've been using the ESV B-Ionic 2 piece for years, but switched because 1) the demand for my tank has increased, 2) the cost has come down, and 3) there are budget-friendly dry alternatives. It's convenient because it's only two parts, pre-dosed, contains trance elements, and is mostly pre-diluted. The system I went with is technically 3 parts (calcium, alkalinity and trace minerals) and in powder form, but at 1/6 the price it's worth it to me. If you've been using it for years and prefer comfort, keep using it. This is a good product! But the price hasn't remained competitive and I wouldn't recommend you use it without looking around and not knowing what the convenience will cost you.
