Sturdy, well packaged and keeps tea warm! Depending on the quality of the candle, my glass teapot easily stays hot for over 6 hours. I mainly use this when I'm stuck at my computer or have visitors. I have a medium sized glass teapot with a rounded bottom and the ridges on it help the teapot stay in place. I've never had a problem with my kettle shifting around and this warmer is heavy enough to stay in place even if you take a hit. It's glass. So if you're going to use it on a very smooth surface and are worried about tipping over (a busy dinner party), I recommend mounting it on cork, textured fabric, or a rubber stand.
