Review on Plantronics BackBeat Headphones Sweatproof Waterproof Headphones and Earbud Headphones by Sarjus Baer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The thick strap is constantly working to get the headphones out of your ears!

Punish me with a glutton, but I've had 5 pairs of BackBeat FITs over the years. I've charged *every* pair with the *exactly* same charging cable, but they all fail prematurely because the charging port on the right earbud will disconnect and refuse to charge the device, even though the battery life has been good up to that point. . They *all* failed early on in the same way. In any case. Now for the BackBeat FIT 2100. It's too early to say this connector will fail prematurely, but I *can* tell that Plantronics made the left and right strap connectors *much* thicker than the older FIT. Units. You'd think this would make them more durable, but instead the tape wants to be straightened. This applies a constant external rotational force to each earbud, causing them to twist out of your ears! It also *definitely* affects the sound quality, because when I leave the earbud in place, it sounds *much* better. Therefore, a slight change in the angle/orientation of the receiver in the ear canal will make a *big* difference in sound quality. I listen to the marketing manager! Those things aren't cheap either. <sigh>
