Smallest sector size - 4096 - Raspberry Pi won't boot

I bought this disk to boot Raspberry Pi 4 without SD card. This device does not perform this function because the onboard controller does not write to a disc with a sector size of 512. The smallest allowed size is 4096. You can use it for storage after booting from an SD card. This has its advantages, but it's far better to ditch the SD card altogether. I used to order a similar drive, which unfortunately isn't currently available, allowed a sector size of 512, and worked like a champ. I wouldn't buy such a drive unless there are success stories in the Q&A or reviews about booting the Raspberry Pi without an SD card. For those not using it with a Raspberry Pi, the drive is fine and very portable.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some problems
