Second review: One of my pillowcases was torn by either my kids or my dog, so I decided to wash it as I was about to throw it away. Anyway, to take care of it see what happens when another reviewer mentioned that her pillowcases came out matted and ruined. It turns out they can be washed, but you need to air dry them and then brush the case with a flat brush, following the direction of the fibers, and it will come out perfectly normal. I'm attaching a photo of how it looks after cleaning it out of the washing machine. I didn't pull out a single strand when I combed it, although I felt like I was combing tangled hair. Golden Retriever when I bought them and it's my fault. They cannot be washed without ruining them. So if you live in a house where things tend to get messy I would skip them. Other than that they are really cute and I cleaned them with Folex Carpet Cleaner (comb the fur with a wide tooth comb after cleaning and then let it air dry!). from the "fur" to pull out stuck crumbs or the like. I'll keep them until they look good and don't smell, but after that I'll buy pillowcases that can be washed normally.
