It filters water very well and removes the chlorine smell which is what I need. The water comes out clean and has no smell at all. However, there are two things you need to know about this filter. First, according to the instructions on the filter, you need to run the water through it briefly to clean the carbon lines. I connected a hose to one end and turned the water on halfway so the water flowed out the other open end of the filter and for about two seconds the water was pure black which was the carbon that came out on first use. After about a minute I turned the faucet on full and it was black for another two seconds. After that, it's been pure and clean ever since. If you don't run the water for a few minutes to flush out the free carbon, but simply plug in the filter without flushing, you have carbon in your system. Secondly, according to the instructions on the filter, it is written so that it does not interfere. Well, if you put it on the outside of the camper in the winter, I'm not sure you can avoid it. But it's a good filter that works great and I'll be buying more of these.
