Extreme popularity is the sole reason of all the complaints: Ninety percent of newbies expect to take amazing images right away while using preset settings. Put them out of your mind completely! Still, I went ahead and purchased a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens. My goal is to become a better portrait photographer. I almost forgot to mention that shooting in RAW can greatly improve your success rate as a photographer. The RAW converter is part of the package's installation disk. But, Lightroom is a far better program for me.
