Review on 🌊 Enhanced Filtration with Fluval G3 Fine Pre-Filter Cartridge by Tricia Grundmeier

This is a very good cartridge and cleans the water in my aquarium very well. I have a 40 gallon reef tank with a 10 gallon sump. Due to the capacity of the G3 filter I would only recommend the G3 or G6 for smaller aquariums. I use this filter to increase mechanical filtration in my system and also as a replacement for a Tri-Ex cartridge media reactor. I saw a difference in water quality and some of my LPS corals opened up, although polyps didn't open up that often before. I have 2 felt filters on the end of the overflow but this filter does a great job. It does clog quite often (usually 3-4 days) but I don't mind my reef tank, I'd rather clean my cartridges more often so that canister filter doesn't become a nitrate factory. Food clogs the filter faster. I have 2 filters on hand. White filter and this one. If one gets clogged I soak it in bleach water for a day or two and rinse, then use the cleaning brush that comes with the g3 to remove the remaining residue, give it a final rinse and it works great!
