In a recent Neighbors blog, a woman hung her purse over the back of a chair in a restaurant and when she went to pay, her wallet was stolen without her even realizing it. It was an open top bag. In the blog post two weeks ago, the ladies dined on the outside patio, the table was set against the fence separating the patio from the parking lot. A car pulled up, climbed over the fence, grabbed her purse, which was hanging from the back of a chair, and drove away. We hang the bag on a chair because the floor is unsanitary and risky, so I bought a bag hanger for me, my sister and my niece. Now my car can always be checked in before entering a restaurant and works really well for hanging my purse on the table in front of me. My purses have shoulder straps so I have to shorten them when using the purse hanger. I highly recommend this hanger.
