[New comment less than a month after purchase] One was attached to a small flashlight that could be used when taking the dogs outside on business at night. I leave the strap loose around my wrist so I can use the flashlight when needed. There is no strong force on the cable. The nylon end just snaps in half. I took good care of her. I was really surprised at how quickly it gave up. This strap was better than the cheap one that came with the lights but I expected more from them.
