You get what you pay for, no wide leg

I want to start by saying I don't hate these shoes. When you first put them on they were more comfortable than I expected and they did their job well. I've had wide feet for a while and wear a large, wide shoe size, so I went with the largest size available. Due to the stretchiness of the material, the fabric part fits comfortably, but if you have wide feet, you will quickly find that you have to adjust your balance when walking. The rubber padding on the bottom of the shoe is a bit smaller than my foot, which isn't purely a design flaw, but makes it a bad shoe for me. The insole, on the other hand, appears to be a minor design flaw. The upper of my right insole started to lift after one use and this caused my foot to lose traction on stepping, which caused me to slip a bit. After another two days, I ripped out both insoles and started walking on bare, slightly prickly rubber, which is serviceable if a bit uncomfortable. The stretch fabric also started tearing at this point, first on one boot and then the other - the holes get bigger with every use. I would say it took one use before the insole started to crack and maybe three before the stretchy fabric started to tear. I am still using it now and will continue to do so until the holes become so big that my entire foot is torn through. and they are no longer viable, but if they do I will not replace them with the same purchase. A foot that is too big could accelerate the tearing of the fabric, but the insole was not affected and for that reason I do not recommend this purchase even if you have small feet. In theory this is a cheap purchase, but in practice the window of usefulness is short term and there is simply no value over time. Having said all that, I have to say that two weeks after the shoe started breaking, I decided that everything was fine with it. Wear as hiking boots when I didn't feel like charging and they made walking on gravel and rough terrain more bearable than going barefoot, but having such flexible material underfoot means it's not very cushioning. Expect stings and trouble from rocks but less discomfort compared to socks or less. So, take it for what it's worth.
