It is not clear how much work is required to install them, even in a new house (my house was built in 2019). You have to remove the entire plastic housing in any previous light fixture, even if it's just a cheap 4 inch LED for buildings. Just getting rid of everything, the whole hull etc. I tore my blanket a bit, pulled out the suitcase and didn't even expect to have to climb into the attic to do it! For this you stand in the attic, be prepared! Once the trim is removed, the clamps for attaching the lights to the drywall are a fun little puzzle in their own right! Great. They are perfectly initialized with the Smart Life App, which means they can be easily added to Google Assistant/Google Home App/Alexa/IFTTT and so on later. If I had removed the previous sleeve to get it working I would have been a lot happier and would have ripped my blanket a bit. But now that they're hanging from my ceiling, I really love them!
