These fit perfectly. I have 18/2x and 2x is perfect. Super comfortable with really soft yet durable fabric. Very light and breathable but doesn't squat (I have navy with pockets). The length is perfect for roomy pockets so I always have room for my phone but not too long. It's not compression. You might get compression when you downsize, but I was looking for comfortable shorts to lounge around in that I can also wear on hikes, and I don't do compression. The fit is comfortable and comfortable. Haven't sweated much in them yet so we'll see how they hold up on long, hot hikes and if the sweat is really noticeable. Will definitely order black as a fallback but really like the navy blue so fingers crossed (will update after sweat test)
