Review on πŸ”† TORCHSTAR Adjustable Recessed Downlight: The Ultimate Retrofit Solution for Industrial Electrical Systems by Laura Belisle

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great light, almost as easy as changing a bulb

I originally bought 4 of the 4" versions to retrofit with lights in my cooker hood. They were chosen on purpose because the light beam is controllable and adjustable so I can control the light could point at the stove.Installation was very easy.As Torchstar lights have bezels I had to remove the old bezels which were held in place by two coil springs. The supplied wiring harness screws into the socket on the old bulb and the plug on the new light plugged right in. That's all there is to electricity. As for mounting the new fixture, it uses a pair of spreader springs that are different from the original coil springs, but the ceiling glasses have accommodations for both styles. I only had to use two small staples (no tools, just my fingers) bend into the right places was so easy that I just looked into the first ceiling jar to get my bearings and made the other three jars without even looking. The new faceplates look better than the old ones and the light was so amazing (with less power) I had to add a dimmer. the work was just as easy. And then I bought 4 more! There are 12 in total so far. The dimmers I have installed throughout are the Leviton 6674 model which I bought from Home Depot. The combination works great together.
