Nice color and finish, a bit crunchy - Updated

Gray is an absolutely beautiful colour, rich and deep. This is a heavy duvet with beautiful decorative folds. I love the look of this duvet and it can easily be used as a lining/top of your bed. As always, I ordered it king (we have a queen bed) because the size of the duvet doesn't make sense. If you want your duvet to be the "finish" of your bed, you should let it droop at the footboard and sides to cover what's underneath (at least to the bottom of your mattress). The king for the queen tends to make me "look at the pictures" for the comforters. This one was exactly the size promised and fit my bed exactly how I wanted it. It's heavy and comes off like a winter blanket. Love the extra loops to better secure it in the duvet cover - now all I have to do is find a cover with extra ties! Nicely sewn, no protruding threads, odorless, sewn from high-quality, dense cotton. My biggest problem is that it's noisy. I haven't washed mine yet and if it improves I'll update this review. At this point I have uploaded a video of the noise. It's a little better now that we've tucked it into the duvet cover, and it should be noted that the noise doesn't stop us from using it - and I'm a light (but not active) sleeper, but at this price point ($95.99 at the time of this review) I was expecting very little to no noise. **UPDATE** - This blanket is too warm. We live in Minnesota and the outside temperature is hovering around freezing (early November). We keep our house at 62 degrees at night, and our room is usually around 60 degrees on the coldest day. Because of their weight and warmth, we like to sleep under cozy blankets. This blanket should be perfect for that, but it isn't. It's just too warm. We started with regular sheets, a cotton comforter and a comforter. Too warm. We took off the cotton blanket. Still too warm. We both went from sweatpants/flannel pajama bottoms and long sleeve shirts to summery skinny pants/shorts and short sleeve shirts. It's still too warm, but if we stick our feet out to cool down now, we freeze. We can't get this thing to work. So now too heavy/warm (NOT all weather [as stated in the description] - just trying tundra locations) And so loud and crunchy we can't sleep with it. (All the temperature issues made us toss and turn more, so while I was comfortable with my husband moving, I was awakened by the sound of the blanket.) No. Just no. Big shame it didn't work for us. I can't recommend that anymore. This goes in our donation pile.
