Doesn't work with Macbook Air M1 and 11.0.1 (Big Sur)

I bought this hub to connect my 2020 13" Macbook Air with M1 chip to LG 32UL950-W 32UL950-W Ultra Slim 4K UHD LED monitor with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. The hub has two USB-C ports, one specifically designed to draw power from a Mac's power adapter and the other specifically to connect to peripherals such as an LG display There are two USB-C ports on the back of the display , but LG's user guide doesn't make it clear if they are for different purposes. I used the USB-C cable that came with the LG display, as per LG's instructions for connecting to a computer. I have one I connected the end of this cable to the top USB-C port on the display and to the port on the Anker hub for peripherals.I then connected the USB-C port on the hub to the front USB-C port on the Macbook Air display rm has not been defined. I then went through all the permutations (2 ports on the screen, 2 ports on the hub, 2 ports on the Mac) but none of them resulted in the screen being recognized. I then went to the Anker website and downloaded the Mac firmware update. OC (for macOS Sierra 10.12+) but when I tried to run the app the Mac said the app is incompatible. 2020, 2019, 2018, 100W, HDMI 4K, 2 USB 3.0, microSD, SD card reader, USB-C connector, USB-C adapter.) and works fine. The cable from the LG screen plugs into the single USB-C port on this hub, the screen is recognized AND the Macbook Air is powered through that one connection. Then it turns out that the Anker 8-in-1 hub is not compatible with the hub. 2020 Macbook Air M1 and/or Mac OS 11.0.1 Big Sur as of now (12/14/2020).
