I did a lot of research before deciding on this brand. The main reason for choosing this brand is that it has a tone-vibration thump. There are not many systems with vibration. Another reason I bought this brand is that you can remove the prongs. In the end I believe the tone will be enough for my beagle. We did not use the wire that came with the system. We bought a thicker 1500ft roll, wanted a continuous roll with no splicing, we also wanted some wood behind our house and thicker wire so we could just staple it instead of burying it. Just wish there was a backup battery, we had a power outage for a few hours and couldn't let him outside. Due to the lack of a backup battery, I don't let him stay outside when we're not at home, you never know when the power will go out! If there was a spare battery I would give 5 stars. Also the orange "flags" are thrown away and bought or made by white ones. I can see him looking at the flags to make sure he doesn't get too close. All he needed was a beep, I'm not sure he ever made it to static correction. When he hears the signal, he returns. Although he says by a morning we did about 1500 feet and it worked fine!
