I bought this because the wall in my home theater room with my TV has a surface that I can't wall mount the wall to and I wanted to choose an 85" TV instead of my 65" one. Since most modern TVs have wide feet, I had to upgrade to a wider stand. My 85 inch Sony X900F TV barely fits on this stand with millimeters of headroom (see separate stand. Pros: * Relatively easy assembly by one person (if strong enough) * Wide center shelf allows for large surround speakers to be placed on a of shelves * Relatively cheap for the price * Metal feet raise the stand off the floor so you can reach underneath to move cables if necessary Cons: * The stand is flat, which makes it "wobbly" especially from front to back does with large TV on it. Legs do not reach the front of the stand but extend about 1.5" from the front edge. I would highly recommend using the anti-tip straps for the flat screen TV, especially if you have kids Finally I cut a large hole in the back panel to fit in. I ended up using rug glides on each leg so you can move the stand around as needed n. * Cable routing holes are tiny and are only at the top of the panel. If you have a lot of wires, plan to cut larger or extra holes. The back panel material is thin and relatively easy to cut; like thick cardboard. * The back panels are thin and fit freely in the slots, shelf slots and top/bottom. Even with the plastic clips in the box to mount them, the panels rattle on bass hits. I had to apply sealant around the perimeter of each of the panels to keep them from rattling in the grooves. There was also the added benefit of making the stand more rigid. You may also need to move the shelves out a bit so they don't touch the back if you still have the rattles. Additional notes for buyers: * Don't forget to install the wooden dowels, this will make installing the screws easier. *A small bottle of wood glue is included, not mentioned in the instructions. This way you can glue the wooden dowels during installation to make them stronger if you want. .*Doors are not required, I didn't use them as I needed to provide adequate airflow for the AV components.*The center shelf is glass and is very thin and flexible given the width of the shelf. Heavy objects in the middle can cause it to sag terribly. * If you put the speaker on a middle shelf, make sure it has rubber feet so it doesn't vibrate against the glass. I used a wedge shaped foam pad for the Sound Addicted SMPad 8 speaker so I can easily point the speaker up towards my listening position.
