Review on 🔦 Hella 002395031 HLMP 7-inch (165mm) H4 ECE Headlight, 2395031 by Brian Kingsford

"You get what you pay for" is the old adage. That's pretty much the case here. I already had a Hella H4 bulb made in Germany and was looking for a second one. This lamp has the same Hella part number but is made in Romania instead of Germany. It is reasonably priced and looks very similar in construction. Unfortunately, when adjusting two newly installed Hella headlights (one Romanian, one German), I found that the quality of the optics was different. Deutsche Hella has a very sharp, clear light segment. Romanian is less focused, with a softer parting line and more light spread. It's not a complete disaster - still better than the sealed beam units I replaced - it's just that next to the German light I felt a little let down. a typical 7 inch round sealed beam headlamp, this bulb (and a decent H4 bulb) will do the job just fine. However, anyone expecting the typically German top-of-the-line optics that used to be synonymous with Hella might be disappointed.
