Easy installation in my Ubiquiti X-SFP router

Incredibly fast module. Easy installation on my Ubiquiti X-SFP router. Adds an additional port that I use for my external interface to the internet.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Low maintenance

Worked great in GS724TS to uplink to .

Worked great in GS724TS to provide an upstream connection to the newer GS724 which doesn't have an HDMI stacking port. It took some work setting up the VLAN to ensure traffic was traveling correctly through the uplink, but the hardware worked exactly as expected.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • I really don't like it, it's ok

More ports. Hooray!

Everything seems to be working fine on the Meraki switch to access the additional ports. For a quick and inexpensive way to get a few more usable ports, they're a bargain. They may not be related at all, but I had some random issues with a nearby port sometimes failing to negotiate gigabit speeds. I can't say for sure if it's related or if it hasn't happened before. This could (and probably is) be a cable issue, but since I haven't ruled out gbic I thought it fair to mention it in case others…

Doesn't work with multiple cards

So I bought this a while back when I got a new (used) HP server. Tried and nothing came of it. No light on the map, no light on the switch, no sign of life at all. I thought it was just a map or something I made so I put it on the shelf and bought a cheap USB ethernet cable for a while. A year later I needed a different network card and didn't want to use USB adapters anymore, so I bought a new SFP card. The same - nothing. No life. At this point I can only assume that it was a bad or…

It works! Electronics

I bought this as a cheap alternative to the 'real' device, but I only use it for field testing and/or the occasional job where the switch doesn't have any ethernet ports open. As for working with Cisco switches I can confirm it works and works well (used on Catalyst 2960, 3560 and 3750). However, for some reason resetting the switch or port does not activate gbic. You need to manually disconnect and reconnect the device to the switch. If you can handle that, then this thing is for you. Update…

  • Good value
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Works great with Netgear GS110TP Managed Switch!

Works great with Netgear GS110TP managed switch! I've tested it with 100 and 1000 megabytes, but not 10 megabytes (although I have no reason to think that won't work). This adapter works great with the switch and I was able to upgrade it to a 10 port switch with no issues.

  • Good
Cons
  • Don't remember

Macroreer for Ubiquiti Gigabit RJ45 Copper SFP Module Transceiver Mini-GBIC 1000BASE-T 100m They worked in Ubiquiti Unifi Switch 24 POE-250W BUT you need the SFP port link negotiation on manually and set speed up to 1000 Mbit/s. It took me a few minutes to figure that out. Modules will still be reinitialized/reset if negotiation stays in automatic mode! I deducted a star for that. But overall they work fine now!

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was
