Everything seems to be working fine on the Meraki switch to access the additional ports. For a quick and inexpensive way to get a few more usable ports, they're a bargain. They may not be related at all, but I had some random issues with a nearby port sometimes failing to negotiate gigabit speeds. I can't say for sure if it's related or if it hasn't happened before. This could (and probably is) be a cable issue, but since I haven't ruled out gbic I thought it fair to mention it in case others experience the same thing.
