Amazing Computers and Accessories

Awesome! I needed to get high speed internet from my house to the annex. We buried the fiber and used these boxes on both ends. Works great and we get 150ms.

Pros
  • Beautiful Thing
Cons
  • Will Be Added Later

They work network products

I use a couple of these to electrically isolate my DSL modem from the rest of my network. I get lightning bolts coming off the DSL line destroying everything connected to the network. -No longer! Lightning doesn't go through a fiber optic cable. I ran speed tests and there was no increased latency or throughput when I connected to them. They work fine.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Roughly

Speed isn't lost here Best in Computers & Accessories

Used in conjunction with 70m of fiber optic cable to provide internet connectivity in my detached garage. Low power consumption, no latency despite being essentially sensors. Low cost, easy deployment and high reliability.

Cons
  • Long Wait

Great tool for protecting your home network from cable modem surges

I live in an area where there are frequent severe thunderstorms and the cable system often generates surges on the coax that not only blow the modem often goes on (via ethernet cable) to connected routers, switches, etc. in the network. That's a big problem, not to mention the high cost. The Solution: This kit and a short (2m) loop of fiberglass create an effective "air gap" that prevents those surges from hitting the rest of the gear. Media converters can burn out on their own, but it's…

Excellent quality highly recommend

I have just started adding fiberglass to my home. I was surprised at how quick and easy they were. Bought 2 pairs for 2 servers. I've noticed an increase in internet speed and a significant increase in network bandwidth. If the project goes on, I will buy more of these.

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

Good electrical isolation between devices

I connected this converter between my ISP's cable modem/router and my home theater ethernet switch to break any conductive path between them. This cheap insurance should give me peace of mind that if my cable modem goes down, my equipment won't be taken away. It was ready to go right out of the box – it was quick and easy to connect, and there was no software to install and configure. Some say it improves sound quality too. I don't see how, but the statement might be legal; Since doing this…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Inexpensive Surge/Lightning Insurance

Purchased to fit between ISP modem and managed intranet switches/devices. Conveniently plug and play. Purchased 1M BeyondTech SC/UPC Fiber Optic Patch Cord to SC/UPC A/B. A/B is connected where A is in RX on both devices and B is in TX on both devices. Connect power, connect an RJ-45 to the ISP modem and an RJ-45 to the internal managed switch. No change in ISP speed. 16ms PING from San Antonio to Ft. Worth it, 230 MB/s download (200 MB/s with purchase) and 12 MB/s upload (10 MB/s with…
