So I bought this a while back when I got a new (used) HP server. Tried and nothing came of it. No light on the map, no light on the switch, no sign of life at all. I thought it was just a map or something I made so I put it on the shelf and bought a cheap USB ethernet cable for a while. A year later I needed a different network card and didn't want to use USB adapters anymore, so I bought a new SFP card. The same - nothing. No life. At this point I can only assume that it was a bad or incompatible SFP module. I've spent so much time trying to get my lab to work with it, very bad.
