I wasn't too sure about this thing at first, but I've been using this blade for a month and a half since buying it. It does not sharpen 100% like new, but 80%, which makes shaving with the same blade much more pleasant. Try shaving on a blade without anything like this for a month and see how it works for you. Works with Gillette Fusion! I put some soap/cream on the rubber and rub it about 40 times with moderate force. A small downside is that this particular model is a bit slippery as the underside is all wood. Some sacrifices of practicality in favor of aesthetics. Since I'm just leaning it against the wall, I don't care. To be fair, I think most sharpeners would need fixing one way or another.
