Review on AKRacing Office Series Opal - Ergonomic Fabric Computer Chair: 🪑 High Backrest, Recliner, Swivel, Tilt, Rocker & Height Adjustment, Black (AK-OPAL) by Amy Lindsey

I bought this to replace a very expensive, uncomfortable and downright painful Arozzi Vernaza to use. Arozzi forced me into a terribly uncomfortable position, causing not only poor posture and ergonomics, but pain on multiple levels. While it had all the basic features and the chair was supposed to be overpriced (the "premium" fabric still didn't breathe), a few chair experts I spoke to pointed out that Vernazza was a product joke for the price it advertised not be long. more has been lined for over a year, maybe two, and in my personal experience it was sized for a person with unusually long legs and an unusually short torso. I was recommended to take a closer look at AKRacing Opal. While there's no excuse for a chair at this price point NOT having a recline lock, I reached out to AKRacing to see if there was a hardware option to add it. They weren't the right fit for the Opal which I think is a huge downside for this chair and price. The current MSRP is $360, which is a joke. don't waste it I got mine for $305 which is a much better price although still high. The chair itself is good, with good quality armrests, a lower base height which most other gaming chairs don't have, the seat back is wider than others I've measured (this chair is more suited to office than gaming ergonomics is MUCH better) which doesn't cause my posture to be in a horribly unnatural position. .The seat length is a few inches shorter than the Vernazza, which does NOT make my legs numb due to loss of blood flow. Seat cushion padding is still a bit thin, but it could just be hip issues. It's MUCH softer than the Vernazza and I can still sit in it without the MANDATORY additional third-party cushion, although I still have an open coccyx cushion and it may just be a necessary addition to all my chairs. for me at the moment. The fabric is initially very rough to bare skin and still sweats a bit, but I fixed that by simply laying a towel over the chair parts. I have bare skin contact because I like to sit shirtless at the computer. The width of the seat is wide enough for me to sprawl out and still be comfortable, except the corners of the seat get too long for the hollows of my knees to rest on. The fabric option should be the default versus that hideous faux leather junk that shouldn't even be there. The guarantee on it is significantly better than anything else on the market. I bought this as a must-have - I injured myself at work and the chair it replaced didn't help at all. It wasn't big enough to put it all the way back in and fell apart after 5 years of use. The gaming chairs were the only ones that had a backrest high enough for me to recline and fully support my head. The neck pillow is shaped better than most other chairs that contain a pathetic ball of fiber that has no real design to actually function as a pillow. I would say probably the best feature of Vernazza was the neck pillow. In summary I thought this was a well constructed chair and should be the FIRST option for most people wanting a high back and a fabric option. This chair is the most ergonomic of the "gaming chairs" unless you want to pay MORE for other brands that have no excuse for being so expensive - "handmade" or not. Get this on sale and AKRacing better put a tilt lock on this particular model in the future, there's no excuse not to have it at this price point.
