Instructions say apply 1/2 oz to damp hair, comb through and leave on for 15-60 minutes (15 minutes minimum). It may seem a little uncomfortable, but the result is worth it. I only left it on for 25 minutes on the first use and my split ends were repaired and as the subject line says, my hair hasn't been this soft or shiny in a long time. If I had to find a negative it would be the size of the bottle. The bottle says it's just under 3.5 oz which is 1/2 oz per treatment and it's recommended to be used 1-2 times a week. It doesn't give you much healing. But maybe after so many procedures it doesn't need to be used all the time?
