I am absolutely satisfied with this heater. We created a 150 gallon above ground outdoor oasis for our red-eared sliders, so we removed them from the 55 gallon indoor tank. I've read reviews of this heater and people didn't recommend it for outdoor use because it's meant for indoor use, not because they've tried it. Well I'm here to tell you that there is no problem with the outdoor heater and it works great as long as the main electrical box is fully waterproof (closed) and the electrical connector is fully waterproof (closed)! I like that I can go out at night and check the water temperature clearly. We've had nighttime temperatures below 45 degrees lately, so I regularly check the water temperature with an external thermometer to make sure it's still working properly and maintaining temperature accuracy with no issues. RES turtles are cute and happy 😊 stay warm and cozy. The cable length is also perfect.
