Review on The Beadsmith Bent Chain-Nose Pliers: Optimal Crafting and Repair Tool for Jewelry Making by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Strong Spring, Bad Jaw

The tips were of different widths and the pliers did not close flush. The handle is comfortable but small. He has a good pen. In general they are strong. So my guess is that this one skipped quality control. I've tried enlarging the images showing the red pen and the differences in jaw sizes due to the closed jaws. If this part had been done better I think they would work fine. However, I will say that they would probably be uncomfortable for large hands. Mine are small and fine, but I definitely noticed a difference between my 5" round nose pliers and these 4.5" pliers. The pine tips were also slightly larger than I wanted. In the picture (on the right the beading pliers) you can see the comparison with the pliers that I already have, with a thinner nose. The tip is flush and the nib is strong. But if the whole jaw isn't straight, I don't think it's good to hold something and pull hard. Therefore they get 3 stars for good enough quality for work that doesn't require a lot of jaw loading. Another reason why this review gets 3 stars instead of 2 is because of the excellent customer service. I bought them with same day shipping and free returns. But the next day, less than 24 hours later, when I had a chance to try them out, the item wasn't even listed as a PrimeItem and was now no longer eligible for a return. I was willing to give a one star review for this standalone! The tongs themselves were fine, but now I was angry that I might get stuck with something that wasn't the best quality. I contacted customer service and they gave me a full refund without having to send the pliers back! So kudos to the support team. (If you made it through this whole long review, congratulations! You just won free pliers that I won't be using!)
