I liked this product. It's a great size, plays all the formats I need, and is pretty easy to use. BUT THE DEVICE WILL NOT TURN OFF when the power button is pressed. It's like he's falling asleep. This means that if you have an HDMI switch (or similar), the switch will not automatically switch to a different input source when you "turn off" this device. This greatly aggravates the situation, as the point of switching is to be able to use multiple HDMI input devices (satellite dish, video games, etc.) WITHOUT having to do anything special, such as turning on and off. It's nice to be able to turn on the media player and it will automatically appear on the TV, then turn on the satellite and it will do the same, turn on the game console and it will automatically appear. and so on. THIS BLOCK does not allow it. Once this media player is powered on, the HDMI switch will remain "stuck" on the media player's input until you physically turn off the media player or manually toggle the switch. Another much worse disadvantage of this behavior is that the media player WILL NOT STOP READING your USB device (flash drive, hard drive, etc.). So if you unplug the USB device without turning off the media player, you could damage the entire drive! I'm not sure how MYPIN didn't see this as a problem. I think in your opinion this will be the only device you will ever use on your TV and that you will never have to remove the USB device to add new content!?!?! For these reasons, I would STRONGLY NOT recommend this product. Think I'll go back to my MICCA product and deal with the unsupported file formats, at least the HDMI switch works and the device turns off to avoid damaging the HDD when removing it.
