I think whether you like them or not depends on what you want them for. I wanted to tie a half dozen or so together so there's something that makes a loud and distinctive sound when I shake it to announce to my cats that it's "meal time". They weren't particularly good for this purpose. They're not very loud, and more importantly, the mounting hole on the back is very small. So small I couldn't thread a line through it, and even when I tried a piece of wire (18 gauge, insulated) I could barely push it through. I came to the conclusion that they are only meant to be sewn onto something. If that's what you need, and if you don't need to be very loud, I think you'll be satisfactory. For my purposes, however, they are hardly sufficient.
