This design is only suitable for bikes without a stem. Almost all modern bikes have stems that are at least a few inches long, and only the most outdated designs don't, so this thing isn't going to work on most bikes. If you have an old Schwinn with banana seats or an old beach cruiser, you're in luck. Otherwise it doesn't work like in the picture. You can hang it from the front, but then the phone's transparent window faces outwards, so that doesn't help. As far as I can tell it's not waterproof or even significantly water resistant, it's just plain old nylon.
