I'm changing my rating from 5 stars to 2 for quality and assembly. Just try changing the batteries on those damn things. A whopping 20 minutes, and wrecked one trying to get the contact wire back. Now it is short-circuited and constantly under UV radiation. The design of the battery compartment could have been a little more thoughtful. If you have fingers bigger than a toothpick, you can't change batteries. We have two of them and I've spent the last hour fighting both of them. I finally got one together and the other one was broken. Too bad because I wanted to choose this magnifier until I had to deal with such poor engineering for something as simple as a battery box that had been perfected by others for over 100 years. Finally there's a magnifier that doesn't break the bank and delivers a big, bright and clear image. It says it's triplets and it looks like it. I'm not an optometrist but this thing WAY outperforms every other loupe I've tried and at this price point it's a good deal. The light switch is manual so you don't have to use it when it's open and it also has a UV lamp. I could use it on a diamond and I saw it clearly. I wish there was a 20x version, but it's definitely a keeper.
